My Story

Dylan Goike [he/him] is a NYC based performer dedicated to telling LGBTQ+ stories through live theatre and film.

Born and raised in Alpena, MI, Dylan began working in community theatre and church musicals once he entered 5th grade. As a teenager he began taking acting classes at Thunder Bay Theatre—the only professional theater in Northeast Michigan—and joined his high school’s choir as an over-eager tenor.

Seeking out any as many performance opportunities as he could get, Dylan found himself performing under composer Z. Randall Stroope (Michigan All-State Honors Choir 2013), studying theatre with Brent Wagner (MPulse Musical Theatre Workshop 2014), and in December 2014, Dylan won the title of Best Overall Male Actor at the Applause Rising-Talent Showcase (ARTS Orlando, FL).

Dylan then began his formal studies in Musical Theatre at Central Michigan University (CMU). He studied voice for 4 years under Dr. Eric Tucker and theatre under Dr. Annette Thornton and Nancy Eddy. While attending university, Dylan achieved many accolades including being selected to perform with the CMU Chamber Singers (2016-18), performing upon invitation at the CMU Honors Recital (2016, 2017), the CMU Opera Gala (2016, 2017), and the CMU DeCapo Recital (2018); and earning a seat as Student Representative on the official CMU Musical Theatre Council (2016-2019).

Career

Once Dylan began his collegiate training, he also started to work professionally. While education was his main focus for the four years he attended university, summer breaks provided the perfect opportunity to get professional credits under his belt in the form of summer stock.

His regional credits from this time include theaters from all around the Midwest and East Coast: Thunder Bay Theatre, Timber Lake Playhouse, Forestburgh Playhouse, and others.

After earning his BFA in Musical Theatre, Dylan moved to NYC Nov of 2019. He began doing freelance voiceover work as well as Extra work in many NYC-based film productions. In March 2020, Dylan landed what would be his Off-Broadway Debut in the English premier of a French musical adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank in the role of Peter. This production however, was shut down due to the beginnings of the Pandemic.

While the theatre world was shut down, Dylan spent the time learning new musical skills, including guitar playing; and developing new shows through Zoom.

May 2021, with much of the theatre world vaccinated, Dylan began working at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater as a highly anticipated ‘welcome’ back to the theatre world. Upon the closing of ‘Farce of Nature,’ Returning back to NYC, Dylan began working on ‘The Black Count of Monte Cristo,’ a musical debuting as an official selection of the Broadway-Bound Festival at Theatre Row. He is now working on the Oceania Sirena as a vocalist sailing through Europe.
