Thrill Me - Shanghai, China

This summer, Dylan had the amazing privilege to perform at the famous Gong Stage in Shanghai, China. C-Musicals in partnership with MSK brought a historic event to theatre lovers in China: the first English production of the cult classic musical Thrill Me written by Steven Dolginoff. Performing in the state-of-the-art Gong Stage in downtown Shanghai.

This American musical thriller by Dolginoff has been translated and performed around the globe in many languages. The first Chinese production was in 2016, performed in Mandarin, and reached cult status with thousands of fans loving the dangerous relationship between Leopold and Loeb.

The musical is based on the evidence and court proceedings of the investigation surrounding the murder of Bobby Franks by Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb in Chicago 1924. The musical centers around the suspected homoerotic relationship between the boys, and the toxic behavior that led to the crime.

Dylan previously portrayed Richard Loeb in Island City Stage’s production of Thrill Me in 2023, and had the challenge to take on other half of this “two-hander” Nathan Leopold in this new production. Partnered with English actor Sam Barrett (shown on left), Dylan performed a successful 8 week run during the summer of 2024.
